Most online calculators are built around simplified inputs—like estimated injury severity or medical bills. They can be useful for asking questions, but they usually cannot account for:
- whether the alleged mistake meets California’s medical standard-of-care requirements
- the medical link between the event and your specific injury (causation)
- whether records exist and clearly support your timeline
- how insurers in practice evaluate risk if the case goes to trial
In other words, a calculator may help you estimate a range, but it cannot tell you what a claim is likely to settle for once evidence is reviewed.
