A calculator can’t account for what makes or breaks cases in the real world, such as:
- whether the bite required follow-up treatment (not just an ER visit)
- how clearly medical providers connect symptoms to the bite
- whether a witness can confirm the dog was uncontrolled or unattended
- whether the owner had prior knowledge or ignored warning behavior
In practice, insurers may offer an amount quickly based on initial records—then revisit the value later if there’s additional treatment, delayed infection concerns, or documented emotional impact.
Bottom line: use any estimate you see online as a starting point, not a prediction.
