A calculator can’t see what the insurer sees—your medical records, photos, witness statements, and the incident timeline. In California, insurers often evaluate:
- Whether the injury is clearly documented (ER records, follow-ups, imaging if needed)
- How severe the bite is (deep punctures vs. superficial wounds; scarring risk)
- Whether fault is likely to be disputed (leash/control, warnings, where the bite occurred)
- How consistent your story is across medical documentation and any statements you give
So think of a calculator as a compass, not a GPS.
