Brandon’s mix of growing residential neighborhoods, commercial development, and local industrial work means chemical exposure can happen in several ways. Some of the most common situations we see include:
- Residential and rental remediation: chemical treatments used during mold cleanup, pest control, paint stripping, floor refinishing, or smoke/odor removal.
- Construction and maintenance work: exposures tied to site cleanup, insulation removal, solvent use, adhesive work, or sanding/abrasive processes.
- Industrial and shop environments: harms from solvents, degreasers, cleaning chemicals, welding fumes with chemical components, or improper handling/storage.
- Vehicle and equipment cleanup: pressure-washing, chemical degreasing, or detailing products used without appropriate ventilation or protective gear.
In these situations, the “what caused it” question can be hard. Symptoms may overlap with other conditions, and the chemical involved may not be clearly identified at the time.
