Deming’s mix of residential neighborhoods and industrial/agricultural activity means chemical-related incidents can involve:
- Workplace exposures tied to industrial maintenance, equipment cleaning, or storage/handling of hazardous materials.
- Construction and remediation work where ventilation, protective gear, or labeling may be inadequate.
- Residential incidents from product misuse, poorly ventilated cleaning, or chemical releases during apartment/house turnover.
- Third-party contractor involvement, where multiple entities share responsibility but no one wants to take ownership.
Many injuries also don’t “announce themselves” right away. Symptoms may worsen over the next days or weeks—especially respiratory irritation, skin complications, headaches, dizziness, and sensitivity to odors or airborne irritants.
