In Lebanon and nearby parts of the Upper Valley, chemical harm often comes from situations residents recognize:
- Construction and maintenance work: exposure during painting, stripping, concrete treatments, insulation work, or solvent use—especially when ventilation or protective gear is inadequate.
- Seasonal turnover in residential properties: improper handling of cleaning chemicals, pest-treatment products, or remediation materials after water intrusion.
- Workplace incidents: injuries tied to training gaps, missing labeling, broken ventilation, or delayed response to leaks/spills.
- Multi-party job sites: when contractors and subcontractors are involved, figuring out who controlled safety can be complicated.
When symptoms show up hours later—or continue to worsen over days—people in Lebanon often assume it was “just irritation.” But with chemical injuries, that assumption can make it harder to connect the dots later.
