Many chemical exposure cases we see locally don’t involve a dramatic “movie-style” accident. They involve hurried timelines and shared spaces—common in South Florida residential and commercial settings.
Examples include:
- Condo and rental unit turnover where cleaners, disinfectants, or treatment products are used improperly or without adequate ventilation
- Renovations and repairs where solvents, adhesives, sealants, or paint strippers are applied while residents are still in the building
- Coastal and storm-related cleanup where protective gear isn’t used correctly and fumes or residues linger
- Maintenance work in utility areas where labels are missing and safety data isn’t provided to contractors or building staff
If symptoms appear later—irritated skin, cough and chest tightness, headaches, dizziness, or “foggy” thinking—linking those effects to a specific chemical can be difficult without a targeted investigation.
