Many online tools assume burns follow a simple path: injury → treatment → healing. Real burn cases are different—especially when the burn involves:
- Long-term wound care (frequent follow-ups, scar management, or therapy)
- Functional restrictions (hand burns that limit gripping, burns across joints, or nerve pain)
- Inhalation or smoke exposure concerns after a fire event
- Complications that develop after the initial injury
In Texas, insurers may try to narrow the claim to the “day of the incident” instead of the full recovery arc. A generic calculator can’t account for whether your medical records show permanence, whether you’ll need additional procedures, or whether your work restrictions changed your earnings.
