Most online tools use simplified assumptions. Real burn cases—especially those involving scarring, hand/face injuries, or infection risk—don’t follow averages.
In practice, settlement value tends to track:
- What the burn did to your function (hands, joints, breathing issues)
- How long treatment lasted and whether you’ll need future procedures
- Whether there’s a documented injury progression (burns can deepen over time)
- Whether liability is clear (employer/public venue/property/product)
So while a calculator can be a starting point, the “real” number is usually built from your medical record and the evidence showing why the incident happened.
