In a smaller community, it’s common for incidents to be documented through a mix of sources—EMS or hospital records, employer or incident reports, photos, witness statements, and sometimes video from nearby businesses or job sites. When those records are incomplete or inconsistent, insurers may argue the burn was less serious, healed faster, or wasn’t caused by the incident in the way you claim.
That’s why your “calculator” question should really become a documentation question:
- What medical findings connect the burn to the incident?
- What proof shows the treatment you needed?
- What records show how the injury affected your ability to work and function day to day?
