Most online tools assume burns follow a typical pattern—minor treatment, limited follow-up, and predictable recovery. Real burn cases are different, especially when:
- The burn worsens after the first day (common with thermal burns and contact injuries)
- Scar formation or sensitivity becomes the long-term issue
- Breathing problems show up later after smoke exposure
- You can’t return to work on your original schedule because of pain, range-of-motion limits, or dressing changes
In other words, a calculator may give you a starting point, but settlement value usually rises or falls based on documentation and how the injury plays out over time—not on the initial appearance alone.
