Generic tools can’t account for what’s typical in our region: the mix of residential properties, small commercial businesses, and local construction/industrial work where burns often involve hot surfaces, steam, fuel/chemical exposure, or equipment-related incidents.
More importantly, burn injuries frequently change in appearance and impact during recovery. A burn that looks “manageable” at first can later involve:
- deeper tissue damage requiring additional treatment
- infection risk and follow-up wound care
- scarring and mobility limitations
- breathing complications if smoke exposure occurred
That means a calculator’s “range” may miss what matters most in settlement talks: the documented medical course and the practical limits you’re left with.
