Injuries don’t always look the way they ultimately turn out. Burns can deepen, scar over time, and lead to ongoing treatment—sometimes after the initial emergency visit. In a community where people may return to work quickly (including jobs with physical demands), delays in care or gaps in documentation can give insurers an opening.
A strong claim usually connects:
- the original incident (how the burn happened)
- the medical timeline (how it was treated and how it progressed)
- the real-world impact (what you could and couldn’t do after)
That’s also why a “calculator” can’t reflect the specific way your burn affected your hand function, mobility, breathing, or skin sensitivity.
