Burns in our area frequently come from scenarios like:
- Rental and property hazards: malfunctioning appliances, unsafe maintenance, or delayed repairs that allow preventable heat or electrical dangers.
- Workplace burns: industrial tools, processing equipment, chemical handling, or inadequate safety procedures.
- Residential heating and electrical issues: water heater problems, space heater incidents, faulty wiring, or inadequate warnings.
- Heat/steam or hot-liquid exposures: spills in kitchens, bathrooms, or workspaces—especially where a rushed cleanup or missing safety measures makes the situation worse.
In these situations, the key question becomes: Who had a legal duty to keep people safe, and what did they do (or fail to do) that contributed to your burn?
