Most online tools are built for quick estimates. They usually assume a straightforward medical path and don’t account for how burn injuries evolve—especially when treatment requires follow-up care, scar management, or additional procedures months later.
In Illinois, insurers frequently focus on whether the medical record supports:
- the severity of the burn at each stage of recovery
- whether ongoing treatment was incident-related
- whether the injury caused work disruption (not just missed shifts)
- whether visible scarring or functional limits are likely to continue
A generic calculator can’t evaluate those details. What it can do is help you identify which records and questions you’ll want your attorney to review early.
