Many online tools estimate value using simplified categories. But burn injuries are rarely simple—especially when they involve:
- Treatment that changes over time (burn depth may not be clear at first)
- Scarring or functional limitations that show up after healing
- Complications such as infection risk or ongoing pain
- Inhalation or smoke exposure when a fire or vehicle incident occurred
A tool may produce a number, but insurers often evaluate claims using documentation: medical records, photos, work impact, and proof of causation. If your burn required specialized care at a later stage, a generic estimate can be far off.
Instead of treating a calculator as a prediction, use it as a starting point for understanding what evidence you’ll need to support a fair demand.
