Most online tools estimate damages using broad categories. They can’t account for the factors that commonly change outcomes in local burn claims, such as:
- Whether you needed burn-center care (and how long you were treated)
- The functional impact—for example, burns that limit hand use or range of motion
- Injury progression (burns can deepen after the incident)
- Complications that arise later, like infection risk or scar-related limitations
- Work and safety context—including whether the incident occurred at a workplace, rental property, or during a home project
In other words, a generic number may look reassuring—but it may also be dangerously incomplete for a case where the injury’s true scope unfolds over weeks.
