Many online tools estimate value using simplified burn categories. Those estimates can be misleading when your injury includes factors that are common in local burn cases, such as:
- Workplace exposure (hot machinery parts, steam lines, industrial cleaners, or improperly maintained safety equipment)
- Multiple treatment stages (emergency care, follow-ups, scar management, or later procedures)
- Functional limitations that affect commuting, physical work, or daily activities
In practice, settlement negotiations don’t reward “symptom labels”—they reward documented impact. Two people with the same burn percentage can receive very different offers depending on complications, treatment course, work restrictions, and prognosis.
