Most online tools assume burns fit neatly into generic categories. Real burn injuries don’t.
In practice, insurers look closely at details like:
- Which body areas were affected (face, hands, joints, genitals, or areas under clothing friction)
- Whether the burn required grafting, ongoing wound care, or scar management
- Whether there was inhalation injury or smoke exposure (sometimes diagnosed later)
- How your injuries affected work tied to local schedules—including shift work common in retail, hospitality, construction, and service jobs
A generic calculator can’t tell whether your claim should include future treatment for scar revision, hypersensitivity, nerve pain, or reconstructive needs.
