After an incident on a highway, county road, or a busy stretch near schools and downtown traffic patterns, families want quick answers. An AI tool may promise a “range” based on items like medical bills, lost income, and funeral costs.
The problem is that fatal cases in the real world often hinge on details that calculators can’t reliably model, such as:
- How fault is allocated when multiple parties or unsafe conditions are involved
- Whether witness statements and incident reports are consistent with the physical evidence
- The timing and documentation of medical care between injury and death
- Whether insurance coverage exists and how policies are interpreted
An estimate can be a starting point—but it should not be treated as a forecast.
