Most calculators work by taking a few basic facts (age, relationship, medical bills, wage history) and producing a rough range. That can provide a starting point for questions like “What expenses might be recoverable?”
However, fatal cases involving commuting routes, rural road conditions, and mixed traffic require more than generic assumptions. Insurance adjusters and attorneys focus on:
- What caused the fatal injury (not just that injuries occurred)
- Whether fault is disputed (common when braking distance, speed, visibility, or sequence of events is unclear)
- How quickly evidence can be gathered after the incident
- Whether the surviving family can prove compensable losses with records and testimony
An AI tool can’t review the police narrative, scene photos, vehicle data, witness statements, medical timelines, or employer/benefit documents. Those items frequently decide whether a claim is valued as a serious exposure—or treated as uncertain.
