Most AI calculators work by turning details you provide—such as the deceased’s age, work history, and accident type—into a projected range. That can feel helpful when you’re overwhelmed.
But these tools typically cannot:
- confirm who was at fault based on police findings, witness testimony, and vehicle data
- account for disputed causation (for example, whether the fatal outcome was directly caused by the crash or by complications)
- evaluate how insurers in Oregon assess litigation risk and credibility
- predict how a defense may narrow damages by challenging documentation
In other words, an online “death compensation estimate” should be treated like a question generator, not a settlement forecast.
