AI tools typically work by converting a few inputs—age, relationship, medical bills, income—into a projected range. That may provide a starting point, but it commonly misses what matters most in real negotiations:
- Oregon-specific proof issues (what evidence is available and how it supports liability and damages)
- Causation disputes (especially when the death occurs after complications, delays in diagnosis, or multiple contributing factors)
- Insurance coverage realities (policy limits, exclusions, and how carriers frame fault)
- Local scene details that get overlooked online—like road conditions, visibility, traffic control, and witness availability
A calculator can’t review police reports, obtain medical records, interview witnesses, preserve evidence, or evaluate whether the defense will argue “not foreseeable,” “superseding cause,” or “insufficient causation.”
