Many online tools generate a projected “range” based on inputs like age, wages, and incident type. That can be a helpful starting point for questions—but it often fails to reflect the factors that actually drive New Jersey wrongful death negotiations, such as:
- Fault disputes common in commuter crashes (speed, lane position, distraction, signal timing, and shared-road responsibility)
- Causation challenges when injuries worsen later or complications follow the initial event
- Insurance coverage questions that can limit what’s recoverable even when liability seems obvious
- Documentation gaps early on—such as missing footage, incomplete witness statements, or delayed medical records
A calculator can’t interview witnesses, review incident reports, evaluate medical causation, or predict how an adjuster will treat litigation risk.
