AI tools typically work by asking for basic facts (age, relationship, type of incident, some financial details) and then producing a range. That can help you frame questions—but it can’t account for the realities that decide outcomes:
- Fault is often contested in serious injury and death cases, particularly when multiple parties could be blamed (drivers, vehicle owners, employers, property owners, service providers).
- Causation can be disputed—for example, whether the fatal outcome was directly caused by the incident or influenced by pre-existing conditions.
- Insurance handling varies based on investigation posture and whether the family has provided documentation early.
If you anchor your expectations to an AI number before the evidence is developed, you may end up negotiating from a position that’s weaker than it needs to be.
