AI estimates usually treat a wrongful death claim like a spreadsheet problem. But local cases commonly turn on details that automated tools can’t properly weigh, such as:
- Which driver or party had the duty of care in a specific traffic situation (turning, merging, yielding, passing, lane control)
- Whether the fatal injury was caused by the incident itself versus complications or intervening factors
- What the police report and scene evidence show (skid marks, signal timing, witness statements, vehicle damage patterns)
- How quickly records can be gathered—medical records, employment verification, and documentation of pre-death expenses
In other words, an estimate can’t read the crash file, interpret causation, or predict how Illinois insurance adjusters will frame defenses.
