Online calculators can appear helpful because they respond instantly. They may ask for details like the decedent’s age, employment, medical bills, and family relationships, then produce a “range.”
The problem is that the most important questions in California wrongful death cases are rarely fully captured by a form:
- Who actually caused the fatal event (and what evidence ties them to it)
- Whether fault is shared among parties (common in multi-driver crashes)
- Whether the defense will argue alternative causes or dispute medical causation
- How insurance coverage works when multiple policies, vehicles, or contractors are involved
An AI tool can’t review reports, interview witnesses, or evaluate whether your evidence will hold up under cross-examination.
