Most calculators (including AI tools) try to generate a number by asking for basic details: age, employment, medical bills, and the relationship between the decedent and survivors. That can create a “range,” but it rarely accounts for the things that decide outcomes in Alabama:
- Crash causation disputes (speed vs. distraction vs. roadway conditions vs. mechanical failure)
- Conflicting incident reports and witness statements
- Insurance coverage issues that can limit what’s actually available
- Evidence timing—what was documented in the first days, and what became harder to obtain later
In other words, the calculator can estimate losses. It usually can’t evaluate the case strength.
