Most AI tools work from a few inputs (age, relationship, general expenses) and then produce a “range.” That can be emotionally tempting—numbers can feel like progress.
But settlement value in wrongful death cases usually turns on things AI can’t reliably determine:
- What Alabama law requires to prove causation and liability based on the facts of the incident
- Whether reports (police, EMS, employer incident logs, medical summaries) are consistent or contested
- Who was responsible when there are multiple actors (contractors, maintenance vendors, employers, or other drivers)
- Whether the defense has a credible alternative explanation for the death
In other words, an estimate may look confident while the case is actually still uncertain.
