AI tools typically work from generalized patterns. That can be misleading for Burlington workers because the “real world” of job impact isn’t always captured by a few drop-down answers.
For example, if you commute to jobs with frequent position changes—standing, lifting, climbing ladders, working around trucks or materials—your restrictions may matter more than the injury diagnosis alone. An AI tool may assume a generic recovery curve. Your file may show something different based on:
- whether your provider documented functional limits in plain work terms
- how consistently you attended appointments and followed treatment
- whether your restrictions conflicted with what your employer expected you to do
- whether the insurer questioned the work connection (common when symptoms appear after a shift or after an incident is disputed)
Bottom line: an AI-generated number can’t review the evidence your adjuster will actually rely on.
