Most calculators estimate a settlement by using the information you type in—injury type, treatment dates, missed work, and sometimes your wage.
That can feel convincing, but Texas claims don’t follow a single script. Two people in Palmview can report similar injuries and still end up with very different outcomes because:
- Medical documentation quality varies (for example, whether your provider clearly connects symptoms to work restrictions).
- Your job duties and restrictions aren’t always accurately translated into what you can—or can’t—do.
- Insurers evaluate disputes (causation, maximum medical improvement, and impairment) using the record, not your expectation.
In practice, a calculator can’t see what the adjuster will see: the full treatment timeline, the exact work status notes, and whether the evidence supports permanent impairment or a return-to-work plan.
