Many AI calculators are built to produce a number range based on general injury patterns. That can be comforting when you want answers now—especially if you’re worried about keeping up with rent, gas, childcare, or other expenses.
But in Hewitt (and throughout Texas), the “same” injury can lead to very different outcomes depending on things an AI system can’t reliably capture, such as:
- How your restrictions were documented by your treating provider
- Whether your work limitations were consistent across visits
- Whether wage impacts are supported by payroll records and benefit history
- Whether the insurer disputes the event, causation, or the permanence of impairment
If your estimate is based on incomplete facts, it may make you think you’re “already near the top of the range,” when the insurer is actually discounting key evidence.
