AI tools often work by comparing your inputs to patterns from other cases. That can be useful as a starting point—but Brainerd claims can differ from the “typical” scenarios these tools assume.
For example, many local employers operate with tight staffing and frequent shift changes. If your injury caused missed shifts, limited duty, or restrictions during peak seasonal demand (summer tourism, winter staffing, events), the way your wage loss and work capacity are documented can be very specific. A calculator can’t reliably confirm:
- whether your restrictions were consistently recorded after each follow-up visit
- whether the insurer accepted the work event or questioned it
- whether your job duties changed enough to matter for disability analysis
- whether your medical provider tied limitations to work capacity—not just symptoms
The result: an AI range may look “reasonable,” but still be off in the direction that matters most for settlement.
