Many online tools promise a settlement range if you plug in your diagnosis and dates. The problem is that those estimates usually assume a “clean” record.
In real Michigan cases, insurers often focus on issues that calculators can’t accurately read, such as:
- Whether you reported symptoms consistently after the incident
- How well your restrictions were documented by your treating provider
- Whether your wages were accurately reflected (including shift differentials or overtime when applicable)
- Whether the insurer disputes the work connection or points to other possible causes
If any of those items are missing or unclear, your settlement value can swing—sometimes dramatically.
