Most online tools estimate settlement value by taking what you type—injury type, treatment timeline, work restrictions, wage info—and running it through generalized patterns.
That’s useful as a starting point, but it can’t reliably account for the things that Iowa adjusters and evaluators weigh most, such as:
- Whether your medical record clearly supports work restrictions (not just symptoms)
- How your doctor documented functional limitations and whether they changed over time
- Whether the claim involves disputed issues like causation or whether the injury is tied to a specific work event
- Whether the insurer is treating your situation as temporary vs. permanent impairment
In other words: the calculator may generate a number, but it can’t verify the evidence behind your number.
