AI tools usually build a “range” based on patterns from other cases. The problem is that your case is not a dataset. Two people in Dubuque can both claim the same injury—say, a shoulder or back condition—and end up with very different settlement results because of differences like:
- How quickly treatment was documented after the incident (and whether follow-up was consistent)
- Whether your work restrictions were written clearly by your treating provider (and whether they match your real duties)
- Whether the insurer challenges the timeline—for example, if symptoms were reported later than the initial incident report
- Whether your job involved multiple sites or irregular schedules, which can affect how wage loss is calculated and explained
Calculators also can’t evaluate the quality of your evidence or how an Iowa claims process will interpret it.
