Most AI tools work by taking a few inputs—injury type, date, body part, and maybe work restrictions—and then generating a generic range based on patterns. In Indiana workers’ compensation, those patterns don’t always line up with what insurers argue from your file.
In practice, settlement value tends to hinge on items AI can’t reliably “see,” such as:
- Whether your treating provider documented work restrictions in a way the insurer can’t easily minimize
- Whether your claim record supports causation (especially when the insurer questions timing or mechanism)
- How Indiana adjusts the case as it moves through evaluation stages, disputes, and medical stabilization
If you rely on an AI range without checking what’s actually documented, you can end up negotiating from the wrong baseline—either accepting too early or holding out for a number the evidence can’t support.
