AI tools typically work like this: you enter your injury, date of accident, body part, treatment, and whether you missed work, and the tool returns a rough settlement range.
That can be emotionally useful in the moment. The problem is that most calculators can’t see the evidence that drives real decisions in Alabama, such as:
- Whether your treatment notes consistently describe functional limits
- Whether your work restrictions match what you were actually doing in your Alabaster-area role
- How the insurer views causation (especially when symptoms overlap with preexisting issues)
- Whether disputes exist around maximum medical improvement (MMI) or impairment rating
For many residents, the “range” becomes a trap: it may nudge them toward accepting an offer before the medical file is developed enough to support a stronger number.
