Even when a police report points one way, claims can stall when:
- The collision occurred at a high-traffic intersection where witnesses are hard to identify after the fact.
- Lane changes or rear-end impacts lead to competing stories about speed, braking, and right-of-way.
- Commercial vehicles or rideshare-type vehicles are involved and coverage status is unclear.
- Dashcam footage or nearby surveillance is overwritten quickly—especially around busy corridors and shopping areas.
Uninsured motorist claims often become a “proof” battle: the insurer wants to confirm both (1) that their insured driver was entitled to coverage and (2) that the crash caused the injuries they’re being asked to pay.
