In the hours right after a crash, your choices can affect what evidence exists later.
Do these things if you can:
- Get medical care even if injuries feel “minor.” Some problems after a car impact—neck strain, concussion symptoms, soft-tissue injuries—may show up later.
- Ask for a copy of the incident report if police respond.
- Document the scene: traffic direction, intersection visibility, road conditions, and any relevant skid marks or debris.
- Preserve rideshare details: trip timing, pickup/drop-off location, and driver status as shown in the app.
- Write down your timeline while it’s fresh: what you remember, where you were seated/standing, and how the crash happened.
Be careful with recorded statements. Insurance adjusters may ask questions early. You can still answer—just keep it factual and avoid guessing about fault.
