Your first actions can shape the outcome of an injury claim—especially in rideshare cases where multiple parties may try to control the story.
Do this if you can:
- Get medical care right away (urgent care, ER, or follow-up with a doctor). Even if symptoms seem minor, some injuries show up later.
- Call police / request an incident report when there’s an injury, significant damage, or a dispute.
- Record the scene safely: traffic light state, lane position, weather/road conditions, and any visible damage to the rideshare vehicle and other vehicles.
- Write down names and phone numbers of witnesses—especially people who saw the crash at intersections or near pickup/drop-off areas.
In Indiana, don’t wait on treatment to “see if it goes away.” Delays can create unnecessary questions about causation and severity.
