Online tools can estimate outcomes based on general categories (injuries, treatment, lost income). That can be useful as a starting point.
However, a calculator can’t properly account for the realities that often decide whether a settlement offer is fair in Wisconsin, including:
- Comparative negligence arguments (insurers may try to shift blame even when the truck driver or trucking operation made the dangerous choice)
- Causation disputes (whether symptoms were caused by the collision vs. pre-existing conditions)
- Evidence gaps (dashcam footage, traffic camera data, and witness information don’t last forever)
- Record timing (if treatment and documentation don’t line up with the crash timeline, adjusters may try to discount your claim)
In other words: a tool may generate a range, but it can’t prove the story of your case.
