Most AI tools work by taking inputs (injury type, treatment length, wage loss) and generating a rough range. That can be useful if you’re trying to understand the categories that may matter—medical expenses, lost income, and non-economic damages.
But AI estimates often fail where NJ claims are most contested:
- Causation challenges: Insurers frequently argue your symptoms existed before the crash or worsened for unrelated reasons. An AI tool can’t read your imaging, diagnoses, and treatment notes the way a lawyer can.
- Liability disputes: In truck cases, responsibility can involve the driver, the carrier, and sometimes maintenance or logistics decisions. A generic calculator can’t weigh the actual evidence.
- Documentation gaps: If treatment was delayed, inconsistent, or not clearly tied to the crash, the settlement value can drop. AI tools can’t “fix” missing proof.
An AI calculator may provide a starting point—but it can’t replace a case review based on New Jersey evidence standards and the way carriers evaluate risk.
