AI tools can be useful for understanding categories of losses, but they usually can’t account for what matters most in real trucking claims—especially in Southern California where insurers frequently contest causation.
Common reasons an online estimate can be misleading:
- Evidence doesn’t match the assumptions. Adjusters may dispute fault using traffic patterns, timing, witness statements, or dashcam/video.
- Medical causation is challenged. Your symptoms may be questioned as pre-existing or unrelated—an issue that requires careful review of California medical documentation.
- Truck liability isn’t always “just the driver.” In many cases, a trucking company’s records (maintenance, logs, training) change the settlement leverage.
- Non-economic damages are harder to quantify. Pain, emotional distress, and loss of enjoyment require persuasive support, not just a formula.
In short: a calculator may output a range, but it can’t evaluate whether your case has the proof needed to justify a higher demand—or the defenses that could shrink it.
