Online tools can be useful for thinking through categories like medical costs and lost income. But they usually don’t know the facts that matter in local truck cases, such as:
- Whether the crash involved freeway merges, lane changes, or heavy braking during peak commute hours
- Whether there’s evidence of fatigue, scheduling pressure, or driving-time rule issues tied to the driver’s log
- Whether maintenance issues are documented (brakes, tires, lights, or other equipment)
- How quickly you sought treatment and whether your medical notes clearly connect symptoms to the collision
A calculator may spit out a range, but insurers in California tend to focus on whether the claim is supported—not whether it sounds reasonable. In practice, your settlement value often tracks the strength of proof more than the injury “label.”
