Truck crashes usually involve more than “who hit whom.” In Dallas County and across nearby highways, it’s common for responsibility to be split across:
- the truck driver (lane choices, speed, braking, following distance)
- the trucking company (policies, training, scheduling pressure)
- maintenance providers (repairs, inspections, tire/brake issues)
- cargo or equipment-related parties (loading practices, securement)
Even when one driver appears clearly at fault, insurers may argue the company’s systems contributed—or that the harm wasn’t caused by the truck crash. That’s why a calculator’s number is only a starting point.
