Pool injuries don’t always happen in dramatic ways. In North Olmsted neighborhoods and rental properties, we often see patterns like these:
- Wet-deck slip-and-fall injuries: algae, worn anti-slip surfaces, or uneven pavers near steps and ladders.
- Gate and barrier problems: self-latching failures, gaps around fencing, or doors that don’t reliably keep children out.
- Step, ladder, or handrail hazards: loose fasteners, missing components, or surfaces that become dangerous when damp.
- Drain and suction incidents: injuries tied to improper maintenance, damaged covers, or unsafe pool equipment.
- Chemical exposure during busy pool use: incidents that occur after chemical additions or when water conditions weren’t monitored closely.
Even if the incident seems “small” at first, pool injuries can worsen—especially head impacts, soft-tissue harm, or complications that show up after exposure or near-drowning.
