After surgery, the “next steps” are usually scheduled immediately: post-op visits, imaging, medication changes, and therapy. Legal timelines work differently, but evidence doesn’t wait. Electronic charting, audit trails, and system-generated notes can be difficult to reconstruct later.
If your chart includes unusual terminology—like references to automated drafting, imaging analytics, or clinical decision-support—don’t assume it’s harmless. The sooner you request records and document what you know, the better positioned you are to evaluate whether care may have fallen below the standard.
