Many injured patients first learn something is off when they see references in their chart that mention automated systems, “decision support,” templated documentation, imaging software, or AI-generated summaries. In real Norwalk-world cases, that confusion often happens alongside a bigger concern—like a mismatch between what was documented and what you experienced.
If AI is mentioned anywhere in your perioperative record, the key isn’t whether the tool sounds “modern.” The key is whether:
- the information fed into the system was complete and correct,
- the surgical team verified outputs before acting,
- warnings or uncertainty flags were noticed and handled appropriately,
- the documentation accurately reflects what occurred.
A strong claim usually turns on those practical questions, not on assumptions.
