College Park sees a mix of residential density and commuter activity. That often means more people using shared stairways in:
- Apartment communities (entryways, internal stairwells, leasing-office steps)
- Mixed-use buildings and ground-floor businesses
- Tenant and visitor foot traffic where maintenance schedules may vary
- Properties with renovations or seasonal upkeep (construction debris, temporary lighting, wet conditions)
When more people are moving through the same stair areas every day, property owners and managers are expected to keep common routes safe—and respond promptly when hazards appear. If they didn’t, liability may be easier to establish.
